The vocation at Lu Xun Center for Chinese Studies is to become a cultural and social bridge in between two worlds that are geographically remote: Basque Country and China. Two worlds that, at the same time, share a mutual interest of approach.

The Lu Xun Center for Chinese Studies is a non-profit association interested in approaching peoples and cultures that are mutually to be enrichened.

For us China is an unknown country. We are now starting to learn how to maintain stronger ties with China in different matters of interest, such as economy, culture, even in the family.

We are now talking about a culture with a tradition of thousands of years, with values and customs that can be easily tracked throughout time. It is, at the same time, a complex society, rich in landscapes and ways of being; a society which is totally different to the Basque one but a society that shares astonishing similarities with Basque society as well.

Due to all these, and specially because of the distance that marks some profound  linguistic differences, mutual communication and understanding have become even more challenging and interesting.

In our center we will try to get these apparent differences and difficulties became a fruitful and encouraging clash; a meeting point where anybody that comes along to  take part in the life of our association can enjoy and enrich both culturally as well as individually.

We want to make, out of this introduction, a warm invitation to all, so that we can share experiences, knowledge and projects for the future.
